Rapper, T.I. also known as Clifford Harris was arrested early Wednesday morning in Henry County, Georgia which is outside of Atlanta in the gated community where he resides. The Sheriff’s office said T.I. was cited on misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after an alleged incident about 4 a.m. in Stockbridge, which is south of Atlanta. The rapper didn’t have his key to get into the gated community and the guard refused to let him in.
T.I. posted bail since the incident this morning and his attorney, Steve Sadow provided a statement to CNN saying “My client Mr. Harris was wrongfully arrested early this morning when he attempted to gain entrance into his gated community where his wife Tiny and family resides.”
The guard was sound asleep when Harris arrived at the guardhouse, and it took some time for the sleeping guard to awake. Tip identified himself and the guard refused entry and then called his wife to verify the identity that he gave him, and even after Tiny confirmed his identity, the guard continued to refuse entry without justification. Words were exchanged and then the guard called the police. When the police arrived, they didn’t listen to T.I.’s side of the matter and arrested him instead based on his past encounters with the law. T.I. hasn’t had a run in with the law since 2009 when he was sentenced to a year and one day in prison on weapon charges.
