Fly High Dushon!

Chicago Fire actress, Dushon Monique Brown passed away Friday a little after noon that has left everybody shocked and dismayed. Brown played the role of Connie, which was the no non-sense lady that kept everybody in check. On the NBC series, Brown’s character was a stern-faced delight and steadying influence on a group of coworkers prone to getting into ones mess or another.  The show has been on NBC for a long time and she played assistant to Chief Boden on the show. As of now, the cause of death has not been disclosed.

The Chicago Fire family is devastated to lose one of it’s own, said executive producer Dick Wolf. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Dushon’s family and we will all miss her.” The news was confirmed on Friday to the principal of Kenwood Academy High School where Brown once worked as a counselor. She was also the school’s crisis counselor and led the Drama Starz Program.

Fans of Dushon has been very vocal on social media, even her manager, Robert Scroeder said “We are devastated by the loss of a very talented and kindhearted soul.” “She brought laughter and joy to many and she will be greatly missed by everyone she has touched.”

Brown not only worked on Chicago Fire, but she also performed at Goodman, Victory Gardens, Lookinglass, Drury Lane, and she played a recurring role as nurse Katie Welch on Prison Break in 2005-2007 and had guest time spots on Empire and Shameless. She was 49 years old.
